National Airlines signs multiple year contract.
Paris, Amstelveen, 4 April 2012 The contract signed between AFI KLM E&M and National Airlines covers the maintenance of the CF6-80C2 engines equipping the US air cargo specialist fleet of Boeing 747-400Fs. In addition to engine maintenance, the agreement also includes the leasing of aircraft engines to ensure availability of National Airlines aircraft during shop visits.
AFI KLM E&M strong flexibility suit
This is the first time that the two groups have worked together. The North American carrier was looking for a supplier of MRO services able to provide maintenance services aligned with its cost and performance requirements and spare engine availability requirement. AFI KLM E&M was able to draw up a proposal tailored to these needs, angled towards flexibility and transparency, in order to give National Airlines predictability and control over shop visit costs.
Rob Pruim, AFI KLM E&M Vice President Sales International, said: “We are delighted to welcome a new airline to our client portfolio. The trust extended to us by National Airlines is a further demonstration of the appropriateness and expertise embedded in AFI KLM E&Ms adaptive maintenance solutions to meet National Airlines maintenance program requirements and expectations. We’re looking forward to a long term relationship.”
Jack Fauth, National Airlines Vice President of Technical Services said: “This is significant step forward for National Airlines and we are looking forward to the opportunity to work with KLM on this endeavor. We really appreciate KLM flexibility, patience and cooperation as we look forward to a long lasting relationship.
