Canadian North has officially launched its “Next Generation” Boeing 737-700 service between Montreal and Kuujjuaq.

As the newest addition to Canadian North’s fleet, the 737-700 offers greater fuel efficiency and range than its existing Boeing 737-300s and 737-400s.

Passengers will enjoy larger overhead bins, in-seat power outlets, and this aircraft will be capable of carrying medical stretchers when needed. The company also expects it will offer improved reliability, with less daily maintenance required and better parts availability.

We are certain this modern and comfortable aircraft will enrich the overall experience of everyone travelling with us.

“We are pleased to make another positive investment for Kuujjuaq, a key community in Canadian North’s northern network,” said Canadian North president and CEO Shelly De Caria, “It is our priority to offer our passengers a more reliable flight schedule between Montreal and Kuujjuaq. Thank you to our customers for supporting us while we work to improve our operations for the benefit of everyone we serve.”

This aircraft will replace the older 737-400s currently serving this important Canadian North route. Kuujjuaq, Nunavik’s largest community, is located on the west shore of the Koksoak River, about 50 km upstream from Ungava Bay. With its two airstrips, it is the transportation hub of the entire region.

“We are very pleased with the new stretcher configuration on the Canadian North 737-700 aircraft. The permanent stretcher set up will ensure an improved quality of healthcare and a much more relaxing experience for users,” said Larry N. Watt, executive-director of Tulattavik Health Center. “We are thankful for Canadian North’s commitment and investment in health services in the north.”

Canadian North is proud to offer daily flights between Montreal and Kuujjuaq and looks forward to warmly welcoming passengers onboard this aircraft.
