Chorus Aviation Inc. (Chorus) announced that its subsidiary, Jazz Aviation (Jazz), has once again been recognized for achieving superior reliability performance in 2016 at Bombardier’s annual award ceremony for commercial aircraft operators held in Munich, Germany, on May 16, 2017. This marks the fourth consecutive year Jazz has earned the distinction of receiving the highest number of awards.

“We are very proud to be the exclusive North American award winner in three categories of exceptional reliability performance,” said Colin Copp, president, Jazz. “Being recognized as the top North American operator for the past four years attests to the expertise of the Jazz Technical Services and Maintenance and Engineering teams, and their unmatched experience with Bombardier regional aircraft. This achievement is a credit to the caliber of our employees and their ongoing commitment to excellence.”

Jazz is the exclusive North American recipient of Bombardier’s 2016 Airline Reliability Performance Awards in three categories:

  • Q400 aircraft program for North America;
  • CRJ100/200 aircraft programs for North America; and
  • CRJ700/900/1000 aircraft programs for North America.

“This is a great accomplishment as we transform our organization into a global leader in the field of regional aviation, offering customers around the world a complete suite of regional aviation services including contracted flying, aircraft engineering, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and aircraft leasing solutions,” said Joe Randell, president and chief executive officer, Chorus. “These are the strengths that differentiate us from the competition.”

Bombardier’s reliability awards are bestowed on aircraft operators of Q-Series turboprops and CRJ Series regional jets who achieve the highest rate of dispatch reliability. Jazz was previously honoured with top performance in the North American region for the Q400, CRJ100/200, and CRJ700/900/1000 aircraft program categories in 2015; the Q100/200/300, CRJ100/200, and CRJ700/900/1000 aircraft programs in 2014; and the Q400 and CRJ100/200 aircraft programs in 2013.
