Flair Airlines, Canada’s leading ultra-low cost airline, has announced a continued robust operational performance with the release of its July statistics.

These three key performance indicators are closely monitored measures within the airline industry:

On-Time Performance for Flair in July was a strong 71.1%.  Flights that arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time are considered to be on-time.  Although Flair’s July performance of 71.1% was slightly lower than its performance in June 2023, Flair’s performance far exceeded that of Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, and Lynx.

Load Factor for Flair also remained strong in July with 88% of all available seats being sold.  This translated into 481,808 passengers flown by Flair in July, demonstrating high demand for affordable summer travel in Canada.

Completion Factor was 99.3% for the month of July 2023.  Completion factor measures flights completed compared to the total number of flights scheduled over the same period.  Flair cancelled just 7 flights per thousand flights — with the airline recovering 5 of the flights within 24 hours.  In contrast, WestJet cancelled 22 flights per thousand flights, Air Canada cancelled 71 per thousand flights and Porter Airlines canceled 94 per thousand flights.

“Getting Canadians where they want to be, safely and on time, remains our top priority. To that end, we’ve added flexibility into our scheduling this fall, including adding spare aircraft time and increasing scheduled flight times to further enhance our on-time performance,” said Stephen Jones, CEO of Flair Airlines. “As we continue to work on maximizing our aircraft utilization and maintaining our position as a leader in on time performance, our customers will benefit from lower fares.”

Flair Airlines remains committed to transparency through the release of monthly operational metrics through its channels, by mid-month of the following month and calls on other airlines to make the same disclosures.
