Flying Colours Corp., the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and completions business, has promoted Spencer Hoggarth to the position of aircraft maintenance manager with immediate effect.

Hoggarth has been with Flying Colours, a Flexjet company, for more than a decade. Hoggarth joined Flying Colours as a licenced aircraft maintenance engineer, then served as a crew lead on the maintenance team before fulfilling an external sales position attracting new business to the MRO.

In his new role, Hoggarth is responsible for managing workflow in the maintenance shop by setting production goals, establishing schedules, and guiding the team to successful outcomes. He leads a team of 24 mechanical, structural, and electrical experts, and the company has plans to expand the team as it continues to integrate with new owner Flexjet, which acquired the business in July.

“Flexjet has an impressive fleet of corporate aircraft that supports customers needing efficient, reliable access to on-demand service. I am pleased to be able to combine my experience with the in-house expertise of more than 40 years of maintaining business aviation aircraft to keep the fleet flying.  We’re expanding our facility, opening another hangar, and working on more aircraft types than ever. It’s a very exciting time to be managing the maintenance offering,” said Hoggarth. “We have an amazing team of hardworking, dedicated people who are proud of the work we do. I’m happy to be a part of the leadership team.”

Hoggarth has continued his education throughout his time at Flying Colours, receiving endorsement courses in Bombardier Challenger and Global types, which is enhanced by his experience working on Gulfstream and Embraer models.

Spencer was integral in creating and driving the in-house Flying Colours educational programs and continues to lead the maintenance curriculum.

“We are committed to staying ahead of the latest technologies so that we are prepared to support each new generation of aircraft,” said Flying Colours Corp. VP of operations Eric Gillespie. “Spencer understands that it’s more important than ever for maintenance crews to understand how avionics, software, and engineering integrate to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. He’s an excellent mentor for our avionics and maintenance technicians.”
