FreeFlight Systems has announced that it is providing its ADS-B systems as a part of a bundled package that Blackhawk Modifications is now offering to engine upgrade customers. As a global provider of NextGen solutions, FreeFlight believes that this collaboration with a worldwide leader in engine performance upgrades offers the latest in technology and flight safety in a single, convenient installation.

As an added value option, Blackhawk engine upgrade customers will receive the RANGR FDL-1090-TX Mode S extended squitter transponder, 1201 WAAS/GPS sensor and GPS antenna. The package also includes a FreeFlight 978 MHz receiver – the FDL-978-RX. This complete package offers full ADS-B capability – ADS-B compliance that meets the 2020 mandate, with the added benefit of subscription-free weather and traffic information.

The RANGR FDL-1090-TX is one of the smallest Mode S extended squitter transponders for GA aircraft. The system includes a compact panel-mounted controller and built-in altitude encoder. The controller’s intuitive controls feature positive-control knobs and push buttons for squawk codes, IDENT, VFR and for viewing ADS-B position data on a sunlight-readable, backlit LCD display. Designed for straightforward installation, the system’s remote transponder may be mounted anywhere within the airframe.
