Guardian Mobility announced it has obtained Iridium Certus certification for the G6 terminal. The G6 is the world’s first and only truly mid-band bi-directional 88/88 Kbps terminal in an all-in-one design.

The certification allows for the G6 Certus products and services to operate on the Iridium NEXT constellation, enabling faster global connectivity.

Designed for a wide range of aviation applications in mission-critical environments, the G6 ensures maximum user experience in end-to-end connectivity. Guardian has invested in a unique network architecture to provide automated airtime/billing services and secure, reliable communications from any location.

“Certus 100 mid-band connectivity is a real game-changer,” said Stephane Momy, COO of Guardian Mobility.

“We can support applications such as live video, automated flight following, real-time images, health monitoring, and more whilst significantly lowering operational costs. This product fills a gap in the mobile satellite communications market with the optimal bandwidth for its size, weight, and power.”

“Expanding Iridium Certus to an 88/88 Kbps solution brings voice, data and video to unmanned and crewed missions at a fraction of the size weight power cost of any other satcom solution,” said John Peterson, executive director of aviation line of business, Iridium.

Guardian serves the aviation, military, government, and other market segments with a simple procurement process and straightforward customer service. Airtime and service packages are customizable to fit individual needs, and an existing product suite featuring FDM, tracking, and communication capabilities is available.
