Guardian Mobility has expanded its product line to satisfy ever-changing satellite communications requirements.

Continuing with the success of the G6 Certus 100 terminal, Guardian’s latest variant, the G6-S, is now Iridium certified. This aviation terminal has the same capabilities and features as the G6 but allows for an external antenna configuration.

The product is specifically aimed at the UAV/drone and fixed-wing high-altitude market as it offers unique size, weight, and power (SWaP) advantages using a small external Technical Standard Order-certified antenna. The transmission speed of 88kbps is four times the speed of any other Certus 100 competitor and, therefore, offers video and imagery services.

“The Guardian G6-S product fulfills a gap in the market and offers options for installation on a variety of platforms to serve our client’s needs best,” said Stephane Momy, COO of Guardian Mobility.  “We can support applications such as live video, automated flight following, real-time images, health monitoring, and more while significantly lowering operational costs.”

“The Iridium Certus 100 88/88 Kbps mid-band solution brings voice, data, and video to uncrewed and crewed missions at a fraction of the size, weight, power, and cost of any other satcom solution,” said John Peterson, executive director of aviation line of business, Iridium.

“Guardian Mobility’s Iridium Connected G6 and G6-S aviation terminals provide that sweet spot for reliable end-to-end connectivity for a variety of unique aviation applications.”

Guardian serves the aviation, military, government, and other market segments with a simple procurement process and straightforward customer service. Airtime and service packages are customizable to fit individual needs, and an existing product suite featuring FDM, tracking, and communication capabilities is available.
