- To date, through ACAP, the J. A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport has received over $14 million in funding for 23 safety projects, including today’s announcement.
- Previous projects included the rehabilitation of the taxiway, Runways 07-25, 01-19 and the apron; upgrading the runway approach lighting; replacement of a visual approach lighting system with a precision approach lighting system; and the purchase of three snow plow trucks.
- Since the program started, the Government of Canada has invested more than $688 million for 828 projects at 174 airports across the country.
