“This is a critical issue for our members. Our national convention is a perfect way to bring our community together to focus on challenges and map out solutions,” said president and CEO, Jim Facette.

Aviation labour subject matter experts will discuss issues and strategies to deal with pilot shortages, recruitment, retirement, succession planning, and other hot-button issues.

Delegates will also have a chance to share their views on what CBAA should be doing to help its members cope with a dwindling labour pool. Labour market shortages will be only one of a number of topics presented at CBAA 2018, which offers a wide range of targeted educational sessions, workshops, plenaries and professional development programming.

“CBAA’s convention provides topical and important information for the business aviation community,” said Facette. “Our aim is to ensure that every delegate leaves our convention better equipped to solve problems and plan for the future.”

CBAA’s annual convention attracts business aviation professionals from across Canada, including senior staff from corporate flight departments, flight management, charter and fractional companies as well as single aircraft owner/operators.

About 700 people in all are expected to attend the two-day event that also features an exhibit showcasing more than 80 leading aviation suppliers, including Canada’s largest static display of corporate and private aircraft.

The exhibit and static will be held at the Chartright Group FBO at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, both of which are CBAA 2018 Diamond sponsors.

More information will be provided on the CBAA website as it becomes available.
