Manitoba’s premier aviation event will commence with a career fair on April 21, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. With free entrance, this day is sure to attract everyone interested in opportunities in the aviation and aerospace world. Representatives from over 50 companies and organizations will be present to recruit for professions such as pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, engineers, flight attendants, dispatchers and ground crew. Information on training and career pathway opportunities will be available as well.

Industry has been sounding the alarm for some time that we are on the cusp of a shortage of skilled human resources in aviation. A 2017 report by training company CAE, forecasts the need for 255,000 new pilots over the next 10 years to meet growing global demand. The Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace estimates 55,000 new workers will be required by 2025 to meet the needs of air transportation and its support activities as well as aerospace manufacturing.

A two-day conference on April 22 and 23 will provide an exclusive opportunity for air operators, regulators, government, airports, suppliers and vendors to meet and network. Packed with a variety of distinctive speakers that will address topics relevant to the ever changing world of aviation, this event will be sure to captivate attendees.

The Manitoba Aviation Council is a unique organization that promotes the aviation industry as it provides networking opportunities, facilitates meetings between industry, regulators and other parties, and protects Manitoba’s aviation interests, working cooperatively with regulators and other associations across Canada. Members of the Manitoba Aviation Council include air carriers, airports, approved maintenance organizations, general aviation and non-profit aviation organizations.
