Minister Aglukkaq congratulates Air North on their inaugural Whitehorse to Ottawa flight

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq congratulates Air North on their first Whitehorse to Ottawa flight, which will increase economic opportunity and growth in the region. 
Air North will now offer regular scheduled flights to and from Whitehorse to Ottawa, with a stop in Yellowknife. The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency’s mandate is to promote economic development and prosperity across Canada’s three territories. It is a hub for northern economic development, working with Northerners to come up with new and innovative ideas to create jobs and growth in the North. 
“As Regional Minister for the North and Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, I would like to congratulate Air North on their inaugural Whitehorse to Ottawa flight. Air North continues to play an important role in the economic development of Canada’s North,” said Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and Minister for the Arctic Council. 
“The North is an emerging economy of global proportions and will be a key driver in the Canadian economy in the years ahead. As Member of Parliament for Yukon, I am proud of Air North’s continued growth and support for Yukon’s economy,” said Ryan Leef Member of Parliament for Yukon.
