S.A.F.E. supplies U.S. Coast Guard with custom Leonardo C27J Spartan wing access platform

S.A.F.E. Structure Designs is known for its long history of supporting the United States Coast Guard with creative and customizable solutions.   Recently, SAFE Structure supplied the United States Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento with a custom C27J wing access stand.  

The SAFETY FIRST ergonomic platform allows technicians SAFE access to the top of the wing when performing maintenance on the fuel cells.  The platform is equipped with the latest features including a seamless fit to the aircraft, enhanced safety handrails, anti fatigue matt, fuel venation system and a precise working deck that extends over the flaps allowing the technician to step off the stand directly onto the approved step area located on the top of the wing.

This versatile platform is lightweight, easy to move around by one technicians and is adjustable in height to allow for aircraft height variations. Without impedances to critical areas on the aircraft, this platform allows for maintenance access to all required areas when performing depot level overhauls or routine maintenance on the aircraft.

Leonardo’s Alenia C-27J Spartan is a military transport aircraft used by The United States Coast Guard. It is an advanced derivative of Alenia Aeronautica’s earlier G.222, equipped with the engines and various other systems also used on the larger Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules.
