Ottawa-based Searidge Technologies, global provider of remote tower and airport surface optimization solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced it has been selected by HungaroControl, Hungary’s ANSP, to receive the Best Partner Award for the crucial role it played in the implementation of its integrated remote tower solution.

“Air navigation service providers such as HungaroControl always aim to cooperate with stable and innovative partners such as Searidge,” said Kornél Szepessy, CEO, HungaroControl. “Searidge represents a continuous exemplary strategic partner with high added-value, as well as a significant contributor to one of the Hungarian air traffic control’s main developments by providing outstanding remote tower technology.”

At the end of last year, HungaroControl and Searidge successfully completed live trials of its integrated remote tower at Budapest airport.  This was the first remote tower of its size and complexity, managing close to 600 movements during the trial period, without any limitation or constraints regarding the scheduled traffic. All responsibilities were delegated to a fully seated shift including four air traffic controllers (ATCOs) and a supervisor (a total of 13 ATCOs participated in the trial) providing smooth and fluent air traffic control services at Budapest.

“We are honoured to be given this prestigious award by our partner,” said Moodie Cheikh, CEO, Searidge Technologies. “HungaroControl have proven themselves to be innovative thinkers and advanced technology adopters and together, we have achieved great things, including demonstrating the capabilities and viability of a remote tower in a large airport environment. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership as we move this project forward.”
