Do you wait patiently at the end of a runway for hours, just to get the perfect shot? Do you and your Nikon spend most summer weekends travelling from airshow to airshow? Or maybe you work at the airport, and your camera comes along with you more often than your lunch!
If this sounds like you, get ready, because the 2014 SKIES Photo Contest opens on Monday, July 14! We’re calling all aviation photographers—amateur and professional alike—to submit their very best photos in three categories:
- People at Work
- Plane Spotting
- Airshows
To enter, simply visit skiesmag.com/photocontest on or after July 14 and follow the instructions to submit your photo(s) along with the $10 entry fee, which allows you to submit up to 10 of your best images.
Throughout the duration of the contest, we’ll keep you up to date with weekly mini contests on the SKIES Facebook page, brought to you by our industry sponsors. The photos that receive the most “likes” from our Facebook fans will be named our weekly winners, with those photographers receiving a free entry into the main photo contest.
The 2014 SKIES Photo Contest officially closes at midnight on September 19, 2014. Shortly after, we’ll announce our winners in these prize categories:
- GRAND PRIZE – Choose one of the following:
– $1,000 cash OR
– A chance to go on an “On Location” expenses-paid photo shoot with MHM Publisher/Owner Mike Reyno (to take place within 12 months of winning)
- FIRST PLACE – $500 cash award + Prizes (One winner in each photo category)
- SECOND PLACE – $250 cash award + Prizes (One winner in each photo category)
- THIRD PLACE – $100 cash award + Prizes (One winner in each photo category)
All winning photos will be featured on our social media channels and in the November/ December issue of SKIES Magazine. Entrants grant MHM Publishing the right to publish their photos in the November/December issue of SKIES Magazine, and to use them for contest promotional purposes. Entries will not be used for any other purpose without the permission of the photographer.
