Sylvain Cofsky, executive director of the Green Aviation Research and Development Network (GARDN), has announced that he will leave his position effective Nov. 23.

From left to right: Sylvain Cofsky received a special award for his commitment as executive director of GARDN, from Richard Legault and Camille Gagnon.

“It has been a real honour to be the head of GARDN these past nine years and to serve the Canadian green aviation community,” he said at the GARDN General Assembly on Nov. 14. “I am proud of what we have accomplished as a team. It has been my great privilege to work with an exceptionally dedicated and skilled team of partners. And I could not have asked for a more supportive board of directors.”

Cofsky said he is convinced that the Canadian green aviation community will continue to be an increasingly strong force in the Canadian aerospace innovation landscape.

“I am grateful for all the hard work the GARDN team has put in to boost the organization from a network of centres of excellence programs to a global leader worldwide. These are achievements that require a committed team of gifted individuals who come together to work for a common goal.

“I may leave my function as the GARDN executive director but I’m not going far, since I have accepted the position of Innovitech CEO which is, as you know, the service provider for GARDN. I am fiercely committed to finding a way to bring innovative, affordable and high value solutions to GARDN,” he concluded.

GARDN’s activities continue. Should you have any questions regarding the network’s projects, please contact Malek Kacem at malek.kacem@gardn.org.
