The Calgary Airport Authority announces two new board members

Andrea Robertson, chair of the board of The Calgary Airport Authority (The Authority), has announced the appointment of Dino DeLuca and Lara Murphy to The Authority’s board of directors.

The new members have been appointed by the Calgary Chamber Long Range Planning Committee.

“We are pleased to welcome both Mr. DeLuca and Ms. Murphy to our Board of Directors,” said Chris Dinsdale, president and CEO at The Authority. “2023 has been a big year for The Authority as we welcomed a new board chair and new directors. We look forward to working closely with Dino and Lara as we continue to see record passenger numbers and chart our exciting path forward.”

“My fellow directors and I would like to welcome our two new members to The Authority’s board of directors,” said Andrea Robertson, chair of the board, The Calgary Airport Authority.

“Both new directors will bring their extensive expertise to The Authority, and I look forward to working with them.”

DeLuca has over 25 years of legal, leadership and aviation experience and is the chief operating officer of TriWest Capital Partners, the largest and longest standing private equity firm in western Canada.

Prior to joining TriWest, DeLuca was a senior partner at the Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer law firm where he founded and developed the aviation practice group and was part of its senior leadership team.

DeLuca has been recognized with several honours throughout his distinguished legal career, including being named one of the world’s leading practitioners in aviation.

DeLuca served on the board of the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service, a not-for-profit enterprise providing emergency air ambulance services from six bases across western Canada, and now serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, a not-for-profit advocacy group for the private capital industry in Canada.

Lara Murphy is the owner and president of Calgary’s Ryan Murphy Construction Inc. (RMC), one of Calgary’s most progressive and highly regarded commercial construction firms, priding itself on its focus to detail, passion for quality and ensuring that RMC always serves the community of Calgary.

Murphy brings a deep and hands-on understanding of the commercial construction sector and a passion for leadership, entrepreneurship, the construction industry, and promotion of women in business which she regularly shares through various public speaking engagements.

Outside of work, Murphy volunteers for various not-for-profit organizations and through her company has contributed to several community initiatives such as The Trellis Society, YWCA, Servus Calgary Marathon, Cerebral Palsy Kids, Fast & Female, and the Inglewood Community Association. 

She is YW Calgary’s past board chair, a board member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, and a member of SAIT’s board of governors. Murphy was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022 for her contributions to improving life in Alberta.
